The shop consists of two counters facing three sides of passages: the long L-shaped one for display with clear zoning of fresh cakes and confectioneries, and the short one for staff as wrapping work. A glass showcase for fresh cakes is embedded in one side of display sides, while the rest of space is covered with the stainless steel grid which has a wooden bottom in each cell. The bottom pieces are designed to hold various types of boxed confectioneries and all removable for daily cleaning and future replacement for different schemes of the sales presentation.

The Kitchenette

The Kitchenette is a minimal cake shop located in the first Japanese department store in Vietnam. The project is to design a display counter for a variety of cakes and confectioneries, referring to a pleasant experience of childhood to select as much as you want of what you like in a traditional sweet shop. A stainless steel grid is applied to the entire top surface of the shop counters for a possibility of flexible sales presentation, with the purpose of encouraging customers to create their own gift packages of assorted confectioneries.

" Minimal cake shop resembling a kitchen "

The shop design is regarded to be not only functional but also indicative of the fact that this shop has a cooking school studio as another business. The whole surface of the counters are, as with common kitchen fixtures, clad with stainless steel. The inner storages are designed to recall professional kitchen drawers. The wrapping counter is filled with cooking tools under a glass plate. All of these are intended to create potential communications between shop staffs and customers, and then to introduce the range of their business otherwise the customers may not know.
